There is no need to forward ports in your firewall if you use the default "relay" connection - it just works! Very seldom connects. Crashes while in QSO. Works great on all my Androids except for the Kindle Fire 7 5th Gen. Doesn't want to connect with hardly anything without using a public proxy on the Fire. Even then it disconnects and reconnects to different proxies.
I hope to find a solution but have plenty of other Android devices to use. I plan on dedicating one to Echolink transceiver use. A lot of hams consider it as "cheating" because of no radio use. I call BS. The way I look at it is the internet was started by hams, not Al Gore, and now it has come full circle. It is just another mode of operation.
And a damn good one. Thanks for the app! Worked well enough initially. Lost my password. Now unusable. Barring all that, stars. When trying to use echolink when a phone call comes in, it automatically goes to speaker phone.
While on a phone call, if echolink decides to automatically login, my call goes to speaker phone, nearly blowing my ear drum out! Will use app cautiously. Under Android 7, loosing connection to public proxy when phone left idle. Even when app in foreground. Workaround or fix? Contact fer debugging. I have a idea to this app maybe wright a program to where service could use it on their towers. It would be handy in rule areas like mine. How do i find out my cell phones IP address?
Text box not working, it always comes up blank and no way to bring up keyboard to echolink for android download it bUsing this with absolutely no issues on my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. I do have one request since I'm visually impaired I use voice notifications on my phone.
When transmitting I get my female voice saying "Notification from EchoLink, EchiLink is logged in"every few minutes and it gets transmitted through the mic. Very good app. An excellent balance of features and ease of use, for when you're not able to use the PC software. My only issue has been with having connection problems on busy conference servers, which requires restarting the app to resolve. I've been using it for several years and it's been a lot of fun.
I can't load it on my android. It says it's compatible, but also says it is already installed. Apparently there is a JAVA code error on echolink for android download WEB site that if a load fails, echolink for android download, it simply says it's already installed, you can't delete something that's not there so that it can be restarted.
OK, so here's an update, after contacting EchoLink support and trying multiple times, I was successful in downloading the software and now I'm a happy camper. Don't understand what changed, but this made me very happy.

One of my favorite apps. My only request would be the ability to set notifications for when specific conferences reach a certain number of people. All of these issues occur on multiple devices. App never really quits or exits. There is no quit or exit button or command, the app asks if you want to quit if you hit "back" enough.
If you do quit the app randomly restarts later. When it does restart it messes echolink for android download audio routing for instance on a phone call with headphones all of a sudden you will have your caller on speakerphone and everyone can hear them. Message on the screen will indicate something like echolink proxy connected or some crud.
Echolink works very good, but its downfall it doesn't seem to have a provision to reset password if you forget password or hints to help you remember password. I had my screen fixed on my Echolink for android download tablet.

Great to keep in contact with places you no longer live in. As for problems Love the app, great way to use the radio if your equipment goes down, not practical for emergency communication, but it is a great way to work the world without spending 7, dollars starting out.
Terrific application and I totally enjoy it. One bit of caution however. Do Not Use your smartphone for validation, use a PC. It won't let me download the pdf from the fcc so I can't use it, I would love to be to give this a higher rating but I won't until they fix that. Deleted anyways echolink and irlp are very crappy quality anyways 7mbs ill stick with my Yeasu HT and R.
Have never been able to use this app because I can't get past the enter password screen. No way to recover password through verified email.
If you can figure it out and actually get the file it still rejects you as it says it does not appear to be a legit file.
